Christmas Lights!

WAXHAW, N.C. – Dec. 4, 2011 – MillBridge began a new tradition last night with the lighting of the area’s only functioning covered bridge. The lighting of the bridge was given as a surprise gift by the community’s developer, Landeavor, to residents during a Christmas party planned by the community’s lifestyle director.

More than 120 community members celebrated the beginning of the holiday season by decorating the community’s Resident Club Christmas tree and Children's tree from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. last night. Families brought ornaments with their surnames to decorate the Christmas tree, while the smallest residents

brought hand-made art projects to decorate their Children’s tree. The developer provided reindeer antlers, light-up necklaces, light-up Santa hats, and jingle bells to help residents immediately catch the holiday spirit, and partygoers enjoyed coffee, hot cocoa, and an assortment of confections.

MillBridge resident Rachel Morgan Sawhook sang holiday favorites by the great room’s fireplace. She then helped the lifestyle director, Eva Potts, migrate many of the attendees outside to watch Rick Garner, Landeavor’s vice-president, flip the covered bridge light switch, and enjoy Sawhook’s additional holiday musical favorites.

MillBridge: Located in historic Waxhaw, N.C., MillBridge is a 920-acre master-planned community that features the Charlotte areas only functioning covered bridge.
