New2012

I have decided to turn over a new leaf for the up coming year. No longer am I going to let the bad news influence me! No more lying politicians and their caucuses, no more “Super Pac” corporations are people and their multi-million dollar campaigns of lies! In fact I am going to do my best to avoid all bad news like, “Gas Rises Over 25 Cents in Three Days” (as it did so far this week and its only Thursday as I am writing this)! Or how about “No longer the land of opportunity”, as was published here in the Washington Post the other day? And then there is the article published in today’s Observer “GOP overrides veto of bill to weaken teachers group” ...who needs those nasty old unions anyway? Especially ones that protect teachers?? Then, for really great reading there is... “Mitt Romney out of control”? What a classy guy.

Yes Sir 'y Bob, the papers have been just chock full of those “wondrously upbeat” articles of late. I was particularly crushed when I read that.... Pummeled by more than $3 million in negative ads, Gingrich was running a distant fourth in final results. Whose idea was it to let those pesky old Super Pacs in anyway? And then the truly sad news that, in fact, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., quit the race. Can you believe it? What a sad loss... especially considering there’s nothing more dangerous than a politician with nothing left to lose.

Nope, I am no longer going to be duped into reading about all of the woes over running our Country! I have indeed decided to read only upbeat news from now on, you know, stories like “Private insurers prosper despite sluggish economy” and “It’s a brave new world of weaponry”! One story I especially liked comes out of our Observer, “20 cats escape Rock Hill animal shelter”!

Black Cat
Cat on the lam!

Now here is one that will gain traction with me anytime. Just from the headline alone, I can imagine those cats planning and plotting their escape just like in that old war movie, the Great Escape, and when the opportunity was just right, they all ran out scattering to the four winds, regaining their freedom, never to be caught again. What a great story ;-) Yep, only heart warming upbeat stuff for me this year!
