Anybody who has been paying any attention at all knows that Warren Buffett, one of our Nations most wealthy has taken a stand against his compatriots being coddled by Congress and acknowledges they should certainly pay a far more fair share in taxes. His contemporaries deride him and suggest he should write the government a check. Just don't ask them to do so....
Here is my suggestion Mr Buffett. You are rich beyond all measure. You are in a very unique position to take a position in history by using some of your wealth to further the status of America. I suggest that you establish and fund an impartial group to investigate Washington. No body else is in the position to do so in this day and age. The likes of Watergate and the investigative reporters that brought President Nixon’s wrong doings to light and eventually got him removed from office no longer exist. The demise of a strong newspaper taking on such an endeavor is no longer possible. They are virtually broke with a very dicey future. |
They rely on advertising which is pretty much non existent these days.
If you were to take a portion of your wealth to found an entity tasked with investigating and publishing just what is really going on in Washington, America will certainly stand a far better chance of ending up with a far more honest group of politicians. I can only imagine what horrible assignations these folks have in place, ie: who really has funded and consequently taken ownership of their votes? Bring all of this out into the light of day. Let us see who Big Oil and the War Machine really own. Just how many of these politicians actually have their hands in whose pockets stealing from us every day. And just who is really behind the Tea Party?
Here you have it Mr Buffett, the opportunity for you to step up and show the world there can be a wise and wealthy man that can show us what real leadership looks like again. America desperately needs it and you are one amongst few that can do it. If you so choose. |
