We have all heard it and I think most of us just try and suppress the knowledge that the people we elect and send to Washington to represent us are, well, less than honest? They write the laws that are supposed to govern us all fairly with protection from those who would take unfair advantage, yet they are the biggest offenders! They write themselves as “outside of the laws” thus making them immune from prosecution.
As the “Super Committee” wasted all of that time with foolish “partisanship” I wonder what they truly seemed to think they would accomplish? I can assure you that they are only interested in enriching themselves, not the American Public. Do you think for one minute if they had to rely on Social Security and Medicare themselves that they would be so quick to tinker with the funding? But, of course they have already made sure they would have the best available healthcare and retirement perks available, not to mention continuing to get paid their salary (including raises) for the rest of their life! All voted in by themselves with no oversight whatsoever.

After all she too is one of the 1%... yet she was caught, prosecuted and sent to jail for doing exactly what the Congressmen and Senators get away with doing every day, with total impunity at that! And talk about rigged, these guys are the ones who decide where all of the big government contracts go.
Yes I believe it is time for changes in government. And that starts with accountability! Amongst the people in government. As the tents come down at the Occupy sites across the country, already signs of the Occupy Movement settling into more mainstream environments is becoming evident. The 99% are angry and once the holidays are past, I suspect we have just begun to see the rise of the protests.
UPDATE: It has been reported that as of yesterday, there is a bill in Washington to deal with this profiteering and that has been in limbo for the better part of a decade! And in all that time less than TEN Congressmen had signed on! Suddenly, since they have been “outed” over 100 Congressmen have signed up (I'll bet they didn't sign up until they had their “cover up strategy” in place tho). |
